Recent committee appointments
Following the recent recruitment campaign, three new members have now been appointed to the education honours committee. They are:
- Professor Haleh Afshar - Professor of Politics and Centre for Women's Studies, University of York
- Ms Sheila Gupta - Director of Human Resources, University of Edinburgh
- Professor Graham Shipley - Professor of Ancient History, University of Leicester
Professor Ludmilla Jordanova will stand down from the committee in September.
In addition, following the creation of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS), Mr Ian Watmore, Permanent Secretary at DIUS, has been appointed to the committee. Mr David Bell, Permanent Secretary at DCSF, remains a member of the committee.
